ROME (ITALPRESS) – The Vatican press office reports that the night was quiet, the Pope is still resting. The Holy Father has been hospitalized since Feb. 14 at Policlinico Gemelli and yesterday he alternated non-invasive mechanical ventilation with long periods of high-flow oxygen therapy, always maintaining a good response to gas exchanges, the Vatican press room reported again, stressing that the Pope’s clinical condition remained stable. The Pontiff, they reported, is apyretic and shows no leukocytosis. His hemodynamic parameters remained stable at all times; he continued to feed himself and regularly underwent respiratory physiotherapy, actively cooperating. He presented no episodes of bronchospasm. He is always alert and oriented. He received the Eucharist yesterday afternoon, then devoted himself to prayer. The prognosis remains reserved.
