ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “I visited Riad in 2023, in the first months of my term. Next Tuesday I will return to the Kingdom to drive a great system mission: 500 Italian companies will follow the government to explore the new frontiers of opportunities that open, first with an entrepreneurial Forum where more than 900 companies will participate and then with three days of events that anticipate the edition 2026 of Salone del Mobile in Milan”. Antonio Tajani wrote this in an article published on the Sole 24 Hours. The minister will lead a great system mission to the Italian-Saudi Arabia Entrepreneurship Forum next 25 November. “Some of our industrial champions such as Leonardo, Fincantieri, Webuild, Ferrovie dello Stato, Italferr, Snam, Iveco, Ferrero, MaireTecnimont, Saipem are already present in the country, but we want to support companies, even smaller companies, in new business and investment opportunities, especially in the field of infrastructure for sustainable mobility and in view of major international events such as Expo 2030 and Mondiali Fifato.
“In the course of the mission we will address the priorities reported by our companies, but I repeat we are ready to listen to all the companies that want to invest or expand in the country. To assist them, I will inaugurate a new Simest antenna in the Saudi capital. I will also visit the site of WeBuild – a group that has already contributed to the construction of the extensive driverless metro of Riad – in the Giga Proyect Diriyah Gate Development Authority, where the construction of a large cultural and economic complex is planned”. the minister continued.
According to a note issued by the Farnesina, next 25 November in Riad will be held the Italian-Saudi Arabia Entrepreneurship Forum, which aims to strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries. The Forum will see the participation of over 900 companies, including about 500 Italian companies and over 450 Saudi companies. The event will see the participation of foreign minister Antonio Tajani, who will be in Riad for institutional meetings and to participate in the Business Forum and the Salone del Mobile. The Forum will be organized in 5 sectoral panels, respectively dedicated to Infrastructures, Automotive, Sustainable Transport, Building and Arredo; Pharmaceutical; High Technology (including Digital, AI, Semiconductors); Agricultural and agro-industry technologies; Industry of Culture and Sport. At the end of the sectoral tables will hold a working lunch followed by B2Bs meetings between Italian companies and Saudi counterparts. In the afternoon there will be a plenary session with the contributions of Ice Agency, Confindustria and the actors of the Italian System. The work will end with the interventions of Minister Tajani and Saudi Minister for Investment, Khalid A. Al-Falih.
The Business Forum is located in a historical moment in which the Kingdom is going through a profound economic transformation, led by the development program “Vision 2030” and a broad reform program that sees Saudi Arabia assert itself as one of the most dynamic and strategic markets of the Region. Italy aims to become a leading partner in Saudi transformation thanks to its technical and industrial excellence, the quality and reliability of Made in Italy and the flexibility and co-design of our companies. Saudi Arabia is a priority country in the Italian Export Action Plan. In the last five years the trade exchange between Italy and Saudi Arabia has grown by 67%. Since 2022 Italian exports have increased by almost 20% annually (the increase was 27.9% in 2024).
