Forza Italia and stadiums, Abodi “It’s time for action”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Improving and accelerating the construction and renovation of soccer facilities in Italy by recognizing stadiums as not only politically, but also socially and architecturally important. These are the issues contained in Forza Italia’s bill for the revival of Italian stadiums. In the conference promoted by Forza Italia senator Mario Occhiuto, and held at the Capitol Hall of the Senate, the various criticalities of current facilities were indicated, starting with the average age of more than 60 years, which has conditioned their competitiveness with reference to major events. The proposal, which also includes simplified procedures for clubs, is guided by the concept of “renaissance” not only physical but also cultural: “In our country, the stadium represents a cost, while in other realities it is seen as a source of revenue,” Occhiuto’s analysis. This is because the stadium, another fundamental point of the proposal, must be multifunctional and attractive all year round, through the implementation of commercial and receptive activities.Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, reiterated the need to “move from the exposition of good reasons to enter the implementation phase without wasting a minute,” with institutions that in the confrontation with communities must “bring out the good reasons why it is necessary to do, to do well and to do it quickly. I now see the conditions to be able to produce facts.” Forza Italia Group Leader in the Senate, Maurizio Gasparri, said, “We are not diverting resources to ‘circenses,’ but we intend to create facilities that are fundamental for cities. The idea of a multifunctional stadium is important. Above all, this proposal wants to facilitate procedures, with the aim of making interventions to improve the quality of cities.” Lazio senator and president Claudio Lotito reiterated the importance “of creating a point of reference and aggregation.” For this, “we need facilities that combine the economic-financial aspect with usability in safe conditions. “Also present was the ad of Sport and Health, Diego Nepi Molineris, who spoke of a “scalable and replicable project, creating a format in which to develop receptive and commercial areas, in which the cover will change according to the territory, creating that recognizability that a stadium must have. We need to intervene not only by adapting stadiums to today’s needs, but also by already preparing them for tomorrow’s needs.” Finally, Anci President Roberto Pella stressed that the proposal “puts synergistic action between different institutional levels at the center. We must not see in football clubs a danger, but we must support them by giving them the opportunity to obtain the profitability that every investment requires.” – Photo Spf/Italpress -(ITALPRESS).
