France, Macron “I will appoint the new prime minister any day now.”

PARIS (FRANCE) (ITALPRESS) – “Today opens a new era. We must act for France, we will have to build new compromises. We must be ambitious and we cannot afford immobility. Therefore, in the coming days I will appoint a prime minister in charge of forming a government of national interest representing all political forces. The priority will be the state budget: a special law will be submitted to parliament and this temporary law will allow before the end of the month the continuity of public services and the life of the country.” This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron in his address to the nation after the fall of the Barnier government, without explicitly mentioning who will be the new prime minister. “The deputies chose a censure motion that insults the voters, choosing disorder that is the only project that unites the extreme right and the extreme left. They did this because they think only of presidential elections. So they hide the reality of the Constitution: there cannot be new legislative elections until next year,” he added. “You have democratically given me a mandate that lasts for five years, and I will exercise it until the end,” Macron explained, later stressing that “I will not be able to stand again in 2027. The only calendar that matters to me is that of the nation. We have 30 months ahead of us so that the government can act to make France a stronger and fairer country,” he concluded. (ITALPRESS).
