ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “From here onwards. Six stories, a journey that begins again” is a photographic story of six people who met on their path the oncoematological disease. Americo, Aurelia, Eliana, Ida, Renato and Luigi thanks to the shots of young photographers of the Italian Institute of Photography become a portrait of what it means to receive this type of diagnosis, what happens after and how, six years after the arrival of Car T in Italy, today it is possible to have hope and plan your future. Six stories in common therefore have an experience of disease, a diagnosis of cancer oncoematological. But they are also stories of rebirth and conquest. Each shot contains much more than a simple image: it is a piece of life, a vision, a hope, not only a witness of care, but a promise of future. The faces, the places, the details tell more about the words: the exhibition route crosses Italy from north to south, accompanying the viewer in the places lived during the disease and in those in which the everyday life is referred. Each image is a fragment of reality, a gesture of courage and sharing, which gives the public an unpublished view of the fragility and strength of all patients. A tribute to resilience, to humanity, to the beauty that also arises from what is not perfect. “From here onwards. Six stories, a journey that begins again” is a project by Gilead- Kite, realized with the patronage of AIL – Italian association against leukemia- lymphoma and myeloma and La Lamp di Aladino ETS. In the fight against cancer, therapy is not only pharmacological: art can also become a powerful cure tool. This project was born with the aim of raising awareness as many people as possible about the new possibilities of care, transforming the disease into a path of awareness and hope. It is not simple portraits, but symbolic shots, in which color, light and subjects represent moods, fears and hopes. The shots tell the strength of those who, thanks to the new therapies, returned to imagine tomorrow, build projects, reappropriate their lives or build a new one. But they also tell the stories of those who have been next to him and have taken care of, of those who listened and understood, of those who silently dedicated care and attention. “From here onwards. Six stories, a journey that starts again” is much more than an exhibition: it is a manifesto of resilience and hope. Each photograph tells of a unique path, made of lights and shadows, falls and rebirth. An invitation to look beyond the difficulties and remember that before the disease there are people, with their names, their lives and their stories. The centers that have joined the project represent a network of excellence in oncoematological care and is thanks to their involvement that we can tell these stories.
