From the ICSC to the “Sport Missione Comune 2026”, 250 million for sports facilities

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Promote the realization, requalification and energy efficiency of public sports facilities through fixed-rate mortgages with full reduction of interest. This is the goal of Sport Missione Comune 2026, the initiative with which the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit S.p.A. (ICSC) provides a 250 million Euro Plafond to support the development and regeneration of sports facilities on the national territory.

The initiative, active until 30 September, is aimed at Municipalities, Unions of Municipalities, associative forms, Metropolitan Cities, Provinces and Regions, which will be able to access facilitated loans, with full reduction of interest rates for loans up to 10 years. Moreover, the possibility of extending the duration of the reimbursement plan up to 25 years is envisaged, favouring economic and financial sustainability also of the interventions of greater size.

In addition to loans under facilitated conditions, ICSC provides the Administrations with a strategic investment impact assessment service, which includes the measurement of Social Return on Investment (SROI) and the allocation of an ESG Rating, allowing to estimate the potential socio-environmental return of interventions. Sport Mission Comune 2026 supports interventions for the construction, extension, redevelopment and energy efficiency of the sports equipment; the coverage of the greater burdens resulting from changes in the prices of materials; and the costs associated with additional benefits or regulatory adjustments. The ICSC initiative is also a synergistic part of the main national policies for sport: it is complementary to the regional programmes and measures proposed by the Department of Sport and Sport and Health – from the “Sport and Periphery” bay to the PNRR intervention lines – helping to strengthen the financial leverage and to ensure full coverage of the financial plans necessary for the realization of the works.

“In line with the guidelines of the Strategic Plan 2025-2030, the 250 million euro Plafond represents a major operational levers through which the Bank intends to consolidate support for the Territorial Entities for the enhancement and strengthening of the sports infrastructure. The ambition is clear: to activate total investments of more than 600 million euros, mobilizing resources more than double than those directly engaged – said Antonella Baldino, managing director of the ICSC delegate – An initiative that aims to strengthen the systemic impact of the sporting activity on the territories acting on two main managers: on the one hand to enhance the contribution of Sport to the sustainable transition of communities, promoting accessibility, energy efficiency and other.
