Fuels, the Mimit “Almost 60% of distributors reduced prices”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy makes it known that, on the basis of the latest data of the Mimit fuel price Observatory, at 8.00 of today almost 60% of the distribution plants in Italy (12.107 points) reduced the prices following the cut of excise duties laid down by the Government. A new survey is scheduled in the afternoon. All the main oil companies operating in the country have also adjusted their recommended prices, with a reduction of 24.4 cents per liter, in line with the measure adopted in the Council of Ministers.

The average price of fuels detected this morning in self-service mode on the national road network is 1,734 euro/l for petrol and 1,978 euro/l for diesel. On the motorway network, the average self-service price stands at 1.812 euro/l for petrol and 2,048 euro/l for diesel.

From the last surveys of the Mimit it also emerges that 11.4% of the plants, in addition to having not yet reduced the prices to the cut of the excise, has even increased the prices exposed: the Guarantor for the surveillance of the prices has already sent to the Guardia di Finanza the list of these distributors, so that the necessary controls are carried out according to the new special regime provided by the decree-law approved by the Government. The results of the controls will also be transmitted to the Guarantor Authority of Competition and Market for the eventual start of sanctions proceedings and, in cases where evidence of criminal relevance emerges, to the judicial authority.
