ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Israeli defense forces (Idf) say that all six armed men identified during a firefight yesterday in the western part of Rafah, in the Gaza Strip, were killed during the firefight. In a statement, the army states that the military eliminated six suspects.
In addition, searchs were carried out in the area and various weapons were found on their bodies. The episode occurred on the side controlled by Israel of the yellow line – the limit of the withdrawal of the Idf occurred on 10 October – in the Gaza Strip, after the troops identified six armed individuals near their positions. The tanks entered and opened fire, pushing the armed men to respond to the fire and triggering a firefight with Israeli air strikes.
The Idf reiterates that the episode is a “grave violation” of the October ceasefire agreement and states that it will continue to act against any attempt by terrorist groups in Gaza to attack Israeli forces or civilians.
