Gaza, Hamas “We don’t close the door to negotiations”

GAZA (ITALPRESS) – A Hamas official confirmed today that the movement has not closed the door to negotiations, despite violent Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip since yesterday, calling on mediators to force the Jewish state to implement the ceasefire agreement. Taher al-Nunu, media adviser to the head of the movement’s political bureau, said quoted by Arab media that “Hamas has not closed the door to negotiations and there is no need for new agreements since an agreement has been signed by all parties.”

He added, “Hamas calls on the mediators and the international community to force the occupation to cease aggression, implement the ceasefire agreement and begin the second phase” of the truce that began last January. Gaza’s Health Ministry announced the deaths of more than 420 people Tuesday in the surprise Israeli airstrikes that ended the fragile truce between Israel and Hamas, which had lasted weeks since the ceasefire took effect in January.
