Generation4Universities, the sixth edition of the program for 100 students

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The sixth edition of Generation4Universities, the free program for 100 students and students selected by universities from all over Italy on the basis of merit and motivation. The initiative is promoted by Generation Italy Foundation in collaboration with McKinsey & Company, with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and the strategic partnership of Mentors4U, a non-profit organization specializing in mentoring.
The project continues after five editions, which involved 426 young people from over 50 Italian universities, with routes ranging from Economics, Engineering and Mathematics to humanities. At the end of the programme, the registered employment rate exceeds 80%.
Generation4Universities offers an intensive training and vocational guidance path, with the aim of facilitating transition from university to world of work. The program includes two weeks of training on transversal skills, public speaking and technical tools, alongside individual mentorship sessions with certified coaches, Generation Italy and McKinsey experts and Mentors4U network professionals. There are also seminars with senior managers of partner companies and, at the end, there is the possibility to support job interviews with the companies involved.
“Generation4Universities was born to broaden access to opportunities and support young people in the development of skills needed for their professional journey, regardless of the starting context” – said Massimo Giordano, Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company and President of Generation Italy.
The 2026 edition introduces new content to respond to changes in the labour market.
Among these, a session dedicated to artificial intelligence, led by an experienced programmer, which will accompany participants from the most widespread applications to Agentic AI models, with the aim of developing practical skills and critical awareness.
There is also a path of introduction to coaching: through the support of a certified coach, participants will work on self-awareness, personal responsibility and individual development.
The course includes the use of three questionnaires – psychometric, aptitude and purpose-focused – which will provide each participant with a report on their approach to work and the main soft skills, with the aim of supporting more informed career choices.
