GENOA (ITALPRESS) – On an unusual league Thursday, Genoa and Como drew 1-1 at the Ferraris at the end of a rather tense game. Da Cunha’s goal in the first half was answered by Vogliacco in the final. A precious point for Genoa, but one that tastes like a mockery for Fabregas’ team, dominant for long stretches. It was Como, in fact, that started off strong right away, grinding out goal chances throughout the first half and imposing its ball possession. On 17′ to unlock the game was Da Cunha, in his first joy in Serie A. It all stemmed from an ingenuousness of Pinamonti, who had the ball snatched from him on the three-quarter line: Paz thus leant for the French trequartista, who with a right-footed cross beat Leali. After 1-0, the Larians came close to doubling the score on several occasions, sinning in precision. Genoa’s maneuvering, on the other hand, is too slow and cumbersome: despite much suffering, however, Gilardino’s boys still manage to trouble Como’s not impeccable rearguard. At 35′, after Leali’s save on Fadera, on a counterattack Ekhator found himself alone in front of Reina: the Spanish goalkeeper read the opponent’s lob attempt, remaining on his feet and parrying without any problems. Later Pinamonti’s header goes inches from equalizing. In the second half Gilardino inserted Miretti and redesigned the team with a four-man defense. Shortly before the 60th minute, the match is momentarily interrupted for about two minutes, due to the intemperance of some Genoa fans, displeased by some refereeing decision: on one of Rapuano’s assistants objects rain down from the stands. In general, the second half is played at a lower pace and the Rossoblù’s counterattacks prove inconsistent. Como tried on several occasions to strike on the counterattack and at 67′ a goal was cancelled out to Cutrone for offside: there were many goal balls thrown in the nets by Fabregas’ boys, lackluster in their search for 2-0. With 20 minutes to go, Gilardino also plays the Balotelli card, but the Grifone’s offensive production remains sterile. A loose ball is then needed to give the hosts a point. During the second minute of stoppage time, from a corner, after Pinamonti’s spurt, Vogliacco scores the 1-1. Como in the end paid for the many under-goal errors and failed to get up from the three consecutive knockouts.- photo Image -(ITALPRESS).
