Getra, Zigon “Celebrating 75 years with new development projects”

MARCIANISE (CASERTA) (ITALPRESS) – “We were born in 1949 with the intention of making our contribution to the postwar reconstruction of the country. In these 75 years with the succession of three generations we have seized opportunities and faced complexities but always with the precise determination to grow by creating development, employment and skills and remaining strongly linked to our country and in particular to the South.” This was said by Marco Zigon, president of the Getra Group, during the initiative “Let’s put energy into circulation,” which took place at the Marcianise plant in the presence of, among others, the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca.”Today, thanks also to the entry into the company of the fourth generation, we are an industrial group present with its products and technology in 37 countries and three different continents with two plants in Italy both in Campania, here in the province of Caserta, and 2 branches abroad, in the Middle East and North Africa,” Zigon continued. We have bet on Italy and especially on Southern Italy, facing the difficulties that this territory poses to businesses, seizing the opportunities that are present, and I believe we have succeeded in demonstrating that from here one can do business and be competitive and successful in global markets. But today we don’t just want to remember the road we’ve traveled, our past, today seems like the right opportunity to talk about the future, representing our vision of the scenarios that await us and our plans and strategies to govern them. “The fundamental issue that we are all called upon to address is that of sustainable growth that allows the spread of well-being by countering climate change. One of the key drivers of growth is the availability of energy. A first response to countering climate change is the use of energies whose production takes place with very low or zero CO2 emissions,” Getra’s chairman stressed. Electricity has these characteristics because it can rely on renewable sources and new technologies such as the latest generation of nuclear power or the production of green hydrogen. We have a long period ahead of us in which in the mix of energies used to support global growth the percentage of electric power will have an exponential development, so investments in production plants, infrastructure and new technologies will be very sustained. The first issue that this scenario therefore poses for us is to be able to respond to significant growth in demand in our sector while simultaneously developing new technologies. A second response to combating climate change is through more environmentally sustainable behavior in production activities and trade. A new approach to globalization that without limiting its horizons focuses attention on the logic of the circular economy and the carbon footprint of production activities; low-emission productions and supply chain shortening. Last but not least, the new frontiers emerging with the use of Artificial Intelligence determining new roles for human resources and their centrality in business systems. Our response to the evolving scenarios I have briefly depicted is summarized in the 5-year Business Plan that our Group launched last April.””Innovation will concern not only new process and product technologies but also the possible applications of A.I. in design modeling,” Zigon further said. “Significant investments are planned to expand the production capacity and productivity of the two plants in Marcianise and Pignataro. For sustainability, investments will be made in reducing environmental impacts through systems for monitoring and optimizing energy consumption and self-production from renewable sources. On internationalization, which will concern the creation of a Plant in a non-EU country, due to confidentiality commitments it is not possible for me to go into detail. We deliberately used the terms employment and well being because we do not only intend to create employment. Getra wants to be recognized as an organization where doing one’s job generates both professional and personal satisfaction by creating a welcoming corporate climate. Getra wants to be able to attract talent, develop and reward the best employees, and train staff to create the skills necessary for the best pursuit of the company’s objectives. As part of the 5-Year Investment Plan, on this occasion we are pleased to present the projects that are already underway and that in the very short term will see realization. “Zigon then spoke about the new plant project, “We will build it very soon, in 2025 in the industrial area of the province of Caserta intended for the production of mechanical components for medium and large power transformers. It is a reshoring activity of a production process that has been outsourced until now, which will allow us, using 4.0 and 5.0 technology, to produce components that meet the highest quality standards by shortening the supply chain and reducing the carbon footprint of our products. In addition, this new production activity will create more than 100 new jobs of highly skilled operators in the area. “I believe that the presentation of our development projects is the best way to celebrate our 75th anniversary,” Zigon concluded. “Over this long period we have made our contribution to the growth of the country and we have done so starting from the South, from this region, Campania, exporting Made in Italy technology to the world. Today we look to the challenges and changes that await us, committing to work with the same determination and respect for the same values that have guided us so far, absolutely confident that the generations that will succeed us will know how to interpret the future to come.”
