Gineitis responds to Marusic, Lazio-Torino 1-1

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Lazio is unable to restart after the heavy loss at the Dall’Ara against Bologna and rises to three games without a win: at the Olimpico, the Serie A Week 30 post-match against Torino ends 1-1. Long the list of absentees for Baroni, who still has to give up Tavares and Castellanos: in their place Marusic, adapted on the left, and Dia, supported by Isaksen, Pedro and Zaccagni. Vanoli, on the other hand, finds Lazaro again on the right flank: Elmas confirmed on the left, Vlasic completes the trio behind Adams. The match starts at a good pace. The first chance is for Lazio with Isaksen seeing Zaccagni at the second post: his volley finds Milinkovic-Savic well positioned. The Granata extreme defender is again the protagonist a few minutes later: first he misses control on an exit out of the area, but then he is resounding in the recovery on Pedro, shutting down the Spaniard with a nice flick. The two teams find some balance on the field and the pace gradually drops. At the end of the fraction there is time for a touch by Adams, who, however, in front of Provedel, impinges badly.
The second half opened with Provedel’s first real save at 52′ on Maripan’s header after Biraghi’s cross from a free kick. Five minutes in and the game was unblocked: Pedro unmarked himself with a great heel control, then backed for Marusic who from the edge beat Milinkovic-Savic at the second post. The goal gave confidence to Lazio, which came close to doubling the score in 67′: Guendouzi’s break stole the ball and went all over the field with his foot before offloading it to Zaccagni, who was closed down by the opposing goalkeeper in the split. The visiting goalkeeper is alert shortly afterwards on Noslin’s header; earlier, biancocelesti protests over a hand touch by Maripan, assessed legitimate, however, as it was in support on the defender’s sliding intervention. At 78′, Lazio again came close to scoring Guendouzi, who flat-footed on Zaccagni’s service and sent it inches wide. The Capitolini’s goal did not come, and Torino took advantage to find the equalizer, packed by the newcomers: Karamoh served deep into Biraghi, whose ball in tow found the winning insertion of Gineitis. This time it is Lazio that suffers the backlash, unable to find a real chance again to try and take the three points: another missed opportunity, and fourth place is now four points away. For Torino, on the other hand, there are eleven points in the last five games.
