Listed as the second seed in the $766,290 “Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open,” Atp 250 on hard court, after taking advantage of a first-round bye, the Italian advanced to the quarters by overcoming Canadian Gabriel Diallo, world number 87, 6-4 6-3 in his first outing of the season. “I felt very good in training, I had positive vibes yesterday in doubles (lost paired with Lorenzo Sonego, ed.).
