Government, Ciriani “The majority has only one voice, that of President Meloni”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “The majority and the government have only one voice, that of President Meloni. Instead, the oppositions have as many voices as the resolutions they have submitted.” Minister for Relations with Parliament Luca Ciriani said this in an interview with the Agora program on Raitre when asked about tensions between Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini.

On the justice reform process, “we are confident that we can have the second and third readings in the House by spring and perhaps the last reading in the Senate by the end of the summer. It is also not impossible to imagine that we can have the confirmatory referendum by the end of the year,” he added.

Finally, on relations with the U.S. and EU rearmament: “We are facing a new fact: the U.S. says its main foreign policy concern is no longer Europe, but the Indo-Pacific. What are we doing to have an Italian and European defense? We need to ask ourselves how to answer this question. Italy is a heavily indebted country, we don’t want to and can’t cut social and health spending, and we don’t want to intervene in cohesion funds. There is a very good idea of Minister Giorgetti (for investment in defense, ed.). But for us, the Atlantic alliance is fundamental and it is unimaginable to break this link.”
