Government, Tajani “No deep division, forward to the end”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – In the government “there has never been a clash on fundamental issues. Ours is a strategic alliance that comes from afar, not an electoral alliance. We are, however, different parties. As Forza Italia we claim, as a liberal, guaranteeist, reformist party, our theses. But a different idea is not a division. An idea is an idea. Having different opinions is normal and right, then you make the synthesis. Let no one be under any illusion that there are deep divisions within this government. We will go on until the end of the legislature, let them get over it.” Thus the deputy prime minister, minister and national secretary of Fi, Antonio Tajani, in an interview with the Quotidiano Nazionale.
On the maneuver, he confirms that Fi will insist on demands for a further cut in Irpef and an increase in minimum pensions: “We will insist and see what financial spaces Minister Giorgetti will find. We will wait. If they can’t be done this year, we will act next year,” while on the possibility of enlarging the majority, Tajani explains that “our task, as Forza Italia, is to widen the boundaries of the center-right and to occupy spaces that today have been abandoned by the left. It is not up to us to go looking for votes among FdI or Lega to get half a point more. Our goal is to create the great popular and reassuring family in our country. We, in short, have to go and occupy that huge space between Giorgia Meloni and Elly Schlein, and it’s not a matter of flags.”
