SAALBACH (AUSTRIA) (ITALPRESS) – Raphael Haaser wins the gold medal in the giant slalom in Saalbach, valid for the Alpine Ski World Cup 2025. The Austrian crossed the finish line in 2’39″71 and climbed four places from the first run, beating the competition of the Swiss. Best career result in giant slalom for Haaser, who before the World Championships had never placed in the discipline’s top 5. Silver to Thomas Tumler (+0″23) and bronze to Loic Meillard (+0″51). Big favorite Marco Odermatt was fourth at 0″58. Good performance by Marco Schwarz who finishes in fifth at 0″78. Badly Timon Haugan. The Norwegian does not confirm the best time of the first run and is seventh at 1″00 from victory. Luca De Aliprandini cannot keep up with the top, but he hits a good top ten (9th at 1″03). Giovanni Franzoni did well, 20th at 2″02, putting himself behind Alex Vinatzer, 21st at 2″08. Filippo Della Vite is 24th at 3″10.
