ROME (ITALPRESS) – The Palestinian Hamas group confirms reports circulated today that an Israeli airstrike in Gaza killed one of its senior political leaders overnight. Pro-Hamas media had reported that Salah al-Bardawil and his wife were killed in an airstrike on Khan Younis in the southern Palestinian enclave. Bardawil was a well-known member of the Islamic group’s political wing who has given media interviews over the years. He is the latest in a series of Hamas political officials to be killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes after the terror group’s de facto head of government Essam Addalees and internal security chief Mahmoud Abu Watfa were killed Tuesday, along with several other officials. Hamas-run medical authorities in Gaza say at least 19 people were killed in attacks overnight, including Bardawil. European and Kuwaiti hospitals confirm the toll, which does not distinguish between fighters and civilians, and say the numbers include several women and children.
