Hamilton wins Sprint Race in Shanghai, Leclerc 5th

SHANGHAI (CHINA) (ITALPRESS) – Lewis Hamilton won the Sprint Race of the Chinese Grand Prix, the second round of the F1 World Championship. The Briton of Ferrari dominated on the Shanghai track and beat Oscar Piastri (McLaren), 2nd at 6″889, and Max Verstappen (Red Bull), 3rd at 9″804. Excellent indications on the race pace of Ferrari, which wins the first Sprint Race in its history. “Today I felt great on the track. It was tough in Melbourne, and I think a lot of people underestimated how difficult it is to adapt to a new car. It was great to come here to Shanghai and feel good in the car right away,” Lewis Hamilton’s words after the win. “I got a good start and managed to manage the tires well. I don’t feel the pressure of having to win.We have to take it one step at a time and keep pushing while keeping calm,” concludes the seven-time world champion.Charles Leclerc on the rise in the final laps, but could not get beyond fifth place at 12″190. At the foot of the podium George Russell (Mercedes), 4th at 11″592. Also in the points were Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls), 6th, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), 7th, and an underwhelming Lando Norris, 8th. The McLaren Briton retains the lead in the drivers’ standings (26 points) over Verstappen (24). (ITALPRESS).
