MARANELLO (ITALPRESS) – Lewis Hamilton officially began his adventure with Scuderia Ferrari HP: the seven-time world champion arrived early this morning at the Maranello team’s headquarters at 27 Via Enzo Ferrari and moved to the small square at the Fiorano track named after the only other seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher, where he was welcomed by Team Principal, Fred Vasseur, and Ferrari CEO, Benedetto Vigna. In that same place, the first ritual photos were taken for which, in order not to make him miss his England too much, even the weather adjusted, offering a leaden sky and a drizzle similar to that which often falls on Great Britain. The square also featured a Ferrari F40, the British champion’s favorite supercar. After the photos, the former Mercedes driver, who recently turned 40 and will team up with Charles Leclerc this year, briefly visited the track’s pit box and the Fiorano factory in the company of Vasseur and Vigna, also being able to see the historic office from which Enzo Ferrari observed the work of his men. Hamilton then returned to the Scuderia headquarters where he met with management and Piero Ferrari before embarking on a full immersion in the various departments that will continue into the afternoon and allow him to begin to get to know his new team. Another day of work awaits him tomorrow, consisting of technical meetings and briefings ahead of a season as intense as ever. “There are days that you know you will remember forever,” Hamilton commented, “Today, my first as a Scuderia Ferrari HP driver, is certainly one of them. I have been fortunate in my career to achieve goals I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to the dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier today that this dream is coming true.” “I am incredibly grateful to John Elkann, Benedetto Vigna, Fred Vasseur and everyone at Ferrari for the trust they have placed in me and for making me part of this family. I am excited to begin this new era and to start working with a group of talented people who are a great inspiration to me. I will strive to do my best for the team, the company and the fans. Today we begin a new chapter in the history of this iconic team,” Hamilton concluded, “and I look forward to the pages we will write together.”- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
