MILAN (ITALPRESS) – A round table dedicated to the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the tourist sector, with a focus on digital applications and the evolution of travel experience, animated the first day of the BIT – the Milan International Tourism Exchange. The meeting, promoted by Fiven – an Italian company active in the field of technological innovation and the development of advanced digital solutions, specialized in the application of Artificial Intelligence, present for the first time at the fair with a dedicated stand – represented a moment of comparison between institutional representatives and industry experts. The aim is to analyse how technological innovation and the adoption of AI are transforming digital interaction models, tourist services and how to relate between operators and users while opening new frontiers and new markets for the sector. During the round table, the experience of Duolly was presented, the Plug & Play solution developed by Fiven: a Conversational Artificial Intelligence system, developed in Italy, which allows to transform portals and digital platforms into real GPT dialogue. Duolly makes AI a concrete tool, immediate and easily integrated even in the tourist sector, safeguarding and enhancing security, reliability and certainty of data – central aspects for public authorities, operators and territories. The initiative was enriched by the interventions of Valerio D’Angelo, CEO of Fiven, and the institutional contributions that underlined the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence for the management and development of tourism. “With Duolly we present to BIT an all-Italian innovation that changes the way of living digital tourism: just questions, no more menu. A reliable, scalable and personalized conversational AI that makes access to immediate and natural tourist information – said D’Angelo -. Every day billions of users lose precious time moving between different sections and documents scattered in an attempt to find what they really need. With Duolly we radically change this paradigm: it is no longer the user to have to search, just ask a question. Duolly dialogues in natural language, such as tools now known as ChatGPT or Perplexity, but with a substantial difference: the answers are based exclusively on content certified by the company. This means no errors or information not verified, but reliable, consistent and custom-built answers, thanks to a single certified data basket that drastically reduces search times and eliminates the risk of error.” The president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, highlighted how AI can offer dual support to the sector: “I am convinced that artificial intelligence can intervene by giving two types of help: on the one hand, in anticipation of possible excesses of tourist flows and, thanks to data, in the creation of a better distribution of tourism on the region; on the other, in the possibility to offer the individual tourists proposals much more personalized and closer to their real needs.” On the issue of digital technology, the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè has also commented on how the use of technologies is now an integral part of the tourist experience: “Today tourism, both with regard to information and reservations, largely passes through digital tools. It is an established practice. This is why I am very proud of the fact that Italy will be among the first countries in the world to integrate artificial intelligence in the portal italia.it, because today those who govern the data also governs the offer”. A concrete example of local AI application came from the intervention of Giorgio D’Alia, deputy mayor of Portofino, who announced the intention to activate artificial intelligence on the territorycity: “We are at the beginning of the journey, but this tool will help us greatly in the management of tourist flows, in the enhancement of the brand and in the support of the services offered by the Municipality. It will be possible to manage the tourist at 360 degrees: to direct it in the most suitable periods and times, to monitor overcrowding and to guide it inside the country”. During the day, the CEO of Fiven, D’Angelo, presented Duolly as part of the panel “Turism and Digital Innovation”, hosted at the stand of the Campania Region, in the presence of the Councillor for Tourism Vincenzo Maraio. “ Campania is the only region that has together the delegation to tourism and that to the digital transition. It is the sign of harmony on these themes, on paths to be consolidated and strengthened”.
