ICSC, 150 million euros for public sports facilities

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Supporting the construction, redevelopment and energy efficiency interventions of public sports facilities with financing at a completely lowered interest rate. This is the goal of Sport Missione Comune, the call for proposals of the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit, implemented in collaboration with Anci.

Until September 30, municipalities, Unions of Municipalities, municipalities in associated form, Metropolitan Cities, Provinces and Regions will be able to submit applications to take advantage through subsidized loans of the interest-rate subsidies approved by the ICS Special Funds Management Committee against dedicated allocations in the 2025 budget law.

The Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit provides more than 150 million euros for fixed-rate mortgages to be taken out by Dec. 31, 2025 with full interest relief with terms of up to 10 years or with the possibility of using the grant for terms of up to 25 years. Sport Mission Municipality 2025 finances the construction, expansion, improvement, and energy efficiency of sports facilities; increased expenses due to price changes resulting from increased costs of construction materials; coverage of expenses for supplementary expert reports or increased expenses for prescriptions and compliance with standards; and coverage of the share of regional or national or European capital contribution reduced by the granting body subsequent to the contracting of the works.

The call has enabled the activation of more than €1 billion in funding with social returns (SROI) for territories and communities of more than €6 billion with positive impacts on key indicators such as health, employment, education, and the fight against crime. The numbers presented confirm that Sport is a powerful driver of social inclusion by fostering active participation, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for all.
