Immigration, Piantedosi meets Polish counterpart Siemoniak “Great agreement on prevention”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi met in Warsaw with Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the Republic of Poland Tomasz Siemoniak. “The already excellent relations between our countries,” Piantedosi said, “are experiencing a renewed intensity in the last period. The prevention of illegal migration is one of the priorities of the Polish EU presidency. Precisely on this issue there is great harmony with the Italian vision, especially in relation to the strengthening of partnerships with third states of origin and transit of the flows and the search for innovative solutions, such as the creation of European Hubs, in which irregular migrants present in EU territory can flow.”

During the talks, the two ministers also had a fruitful exchange on the issues of security and terrorist risk, sharing the need to strengthen international cooperation and the fight against cybercrime. “The excellent dialogue and bilateral cooperation we have developed,” Piantedosi concluded, “will allow progress on all issues of specific interest such as the fight against organized crime, drug trafficking and financial crimes.
