In 2025 GDP +0.5%, deficit/Pil ratio decreased to 3.1%: Istat data

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In 2025, according to Istat data, GDP at market prices was 2.258,049 million current, with an increase of 2.5% compared to the previous year. In volume, GDP grew by 0.5%. On the domestic demand side there was an increase in volume of 3.5% of gross fixed investment and 0.9% of national final consumption compared with 2024. As regards foreign flows, imports of goods and services rose by 3.6% and exports by 1.2%. The national demand net of stocks has contributed positively to the GDP dynamic in volume for 1.5 percentage points, while the contribution of net foreign demand and the variation of stocks has been negative for 0.7 and 0.2 points respectively.

The added value increased by 0.3% in industry in a narrow sense, by 2.4% in construction and by 0.3% in service activities, while a slight decline of 0.1% in agriculture, forestry and fisheries was recorded. The net debt of public administrations, measured in relation to GDP, was -3.1%, compared with -3.4% in 2024. The primary balance (net debt minus interest expenditure) measured in relation to GDP was +0.7% (+0.5% in 2024).
