LONDRA (INGHILTERRA) (ITALPRESS) – An international conference in Cambridge recalls Grazia Deledda. A hundred years after the award of the Nobel Prize to the Sardinian writer, scholars from all over the world met at Murray Edwards College of the University of Cambridge to reflect on the figure of the nuorese author. “Motors” of this initiative, which takes place under the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic and with the patronage of the Italian Institute of Culture of London, two Italian researchers, Elena Sottilotta of the University of Cambridge and Sara Delmedico of the University of Bologna.
For two days in a hall of one of the most prestigious universities in the world the literary production of the author has been undeveloped whose message, has been repeatedly underlined by the podium, remains present even a hundred years after the recognition of the Nobel to a woman so simple and yet so extraordinaryly read and able to tell feelings, traditions, stories, values and devalues.
“Grazia Deledda – said the director of the Italian Institute of Culture Francesco Bongarrà – is an excellence of our literature. His work has never been purely regional, but in his novels and novels his Sardinia becomes a universal metaphor that is a heritage of all and must be known increasingly in Italy and in the world”.
