In February industrial production prices declined by 0.4% on a monthly basis and 2.7% on an annual basis

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In February, according to Istat data, industrial production prices decrease by 0.4% on a monthly basis and 2.7% on an annual basis (was -1.6% in January). On the internal market prices decrease by 0.8% compared to January and by 3.7% on an annual basis (from -2,1% of the previous month).

Net of the energy sector, prices record a modest increase (+0.1%) and a trend growth of 1.1% (as in January). On the foreign market prices increase by 0.3% on a monthly basis (+0.4% euro area, +0.3% non euro area) and by 0.2% on an annual basis (+1.1% euro area, -0.5% non euro area).

In the quarter of December 2025-February 2026, compared to the previous, the prices to the production of the industry grow by 0.6% (+0.8% domestic market, +0.3% foreign market). In February between manufacturing activities, the broader tendencies are found for coke and refined petroleum products (-5.5% domestic market, -15.7% euro area, -13.2% non euro area).

The main increases concern metallurgy and manufacture of metal products, excluding machines and plants (+4.9% internal market), means of transport (+6.9% euro area), and other manufacturing industries, repair and installation of machines and equipment (+5.4% euro area, +13.5% non euro area).

On the internal market, the annual fall in the prices of electricity and gas supply (-12.4%, from -6,1% of January). In February, construction prices for residential and non-residential buildings grew by 0.3% on a monthly basis and 1.3% on a yearly basis (from +2.1% of January); road and rail increased by 0.5% in terms of economic activity while recording a decline on a modest curtain basis (-0.1%; it was -0.2% in January).

In the quarter of December 2025-February 2026, compared to the previous, the prices of residential and non-residential buildings increase by 0.4%, those of roads and railways decrease by 0.1%.
