ROZZANO (ITALPRESS) – The IRCCCS Humanitas Clinical Institute begins collaboration with Tandem Health with the arrival of an innovative transcription system based on artificial intelligence, becoming one of the first hospitals in Europe to introduce this technology in everyday clinical practice. The collaboration will start with the first 9 Operational Units with the aim of reducing the compilation of doctors during outpatient visits and restoring valuable time to care, improving the quality of the relationship with the patient. This is an AI-based support system that automatically transcribes the interview between doctor and patient during the visit and organizes it in a first draft clinical report. In this way, the healthcare professional can focus more on active listening, dialogue and clinical evaluation, without having to compile real-time documentation. The system, trained ad hoc for these situations, integrates into existing clinical flows, without changing the operational modes of doctors and without impact on patients. During the visit, the doctor always maintains full control of the clinical process: each report generated by the system is reviewed, verified and signed by the professional, which guarantees accuracy. This tool is included in compliance with current data protection and privacy regulations. “This tool allows us to change the way we conduct the visit – says prof. Andrea Lania, head of IRCCS Institute Clinical Humanitas Endocrinology, and among the first to use the device -: we can focus more on the patient, look at it and listen to it without interruption, while artificial intelligence supports us in compiling the report. In the end the content remains always under clinical responsibility, it is the process that changes”. “In a health context characterized by increasing complexity, AI tools represent an important evolution: more time for the patient – says Riccardo Bui, CEO of the IRCS Humanitas Clinical Institute and Humanitas San Pio X -. Artificial intelligence thus becomes an ally to improve the healing experience and the quality of medical-patient interaction.” “We are proud to support Humanitas in a project that brings European artificial intelligence, compliant and integrated into clinical practice in a concrete, safe and useful way – says Gionata Fiorentini, Country Director Italy of Tandem Health. Our goal, thanks to our technology, is to simplify the document work of doctors, improve the quality of reporting and return valuable time to the relationship with the patient. We believe that AI should integrate in existing clinical flows naturally, always leaving the professional full control of the clinical process.” “Technological innovation in health no longer concerns the adoption of new tools, concerns the construction of infrastructures that make clinical work more sustainable, more efficient and more patiently focused,” adds Victor Savevski, Chief Innovation Officer of the Humanitas Group. -photo print office Humanitas-(ITALPRESS).
