ROMA (ITALPRESS) – According to data collected by Federacciai, in January the production of steel, attested to 1.7 million tons, has increased by 1.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, confirming the positive trend recorded in 2025, with a total volume of 20.7 million tons of steel in increase of 3.7% on 2024.
The evolution by family of hot rolled shows an opposite dynamic. The long products continued the expansion with an increase of 13.2% reaching 978 thousand tons, since it follows +5.5% for a total of 12.3 million tons in the cumulation of 2025. On the contrary, the flat products, after closing the 2025 in recovery of 4%, attesting to 9 million tons, in January they recorded a bending of 1.8% stopping to 774 thousand tons.
