ROMA (ITALPRESS) – After four consecutive months of positive results, in November the commercial vehicle market returns to record a setback. The registrations are attested to 15.585 units, with a decrease of 3.3% compared to 16.115 recorded in the same month of 2024, which in turn had already lost 15.9%. The budget of the first eleven months of the year still shows a contraction of 4.8%, with 174.542 units against 183.383 of January-November 2024.
For the conclusion of the current year UNRAE previews a total volume of 190.000 registrations, with a reduction of 4.4% regarding the 198.700 units of the entire 2024. In November the penetration of pure electric vehicles recorded a limited acceleration, reaching 4.3%, exceeding both 2.5% of November 2024 and 3.3% of October 2025. A result probably favoured by MASE incentives on vehicles available in prompt delivery. Only when the procedures for repayment to the Concessionaries are concluded, will it be possible to quantify the actual impact of incentives on the light commercial sector.
On the other hand, the sector still expects communications on the Ecobonus for light commercial vehicles, not only electric vehicles, which should use the residual resources of the previous years and on which the MIMIT is currently engaged.
“The other priority needs of the sector concern the expansion of public charging infrastructures for light commercial vehicles, similar to those expected for heavy goods vehicles, the implementation of a tax credit to 50% in the three-year period 2026-2028 for private investments in fast refills of more than 70 kW, and a concrete action on the high costs of refills,” said Roberto Pietrantonio, President of UNRAE. The entire automotive sector is waiting to learn about the regulatory package that the European Commission should present next December 16, concerning the CO2 emissions regulation of new light vehicles. This package should include reviewing the emissions standards, a strategy aimed at consolidating the battery sector, a package of regulatory simplification measures for the automotive industry, and a specific proposal dedicated to electrification of the company fleets.
“Electric mobility is a complex ecosystem, with indispensable enabling factors that the Union has not imposed on other stakeholders or even less funded. We expect from the Commission an immediate clarity on the new rules that will come into force, but also a change of pace of Italy in the development of charging infrastructures, both public and private, and on the costs of the refills, currently too high”, concludes President Pietrantonio.
The structure of the market of November, with almost definitive data, compared with the same periods 2024, confirms a bending for the individuals who descend from 1,1 points, to 14.1% in the month (14.4% in the cumulated, -0,6 p.p.). Autoimmatricolazioni cedono beyond 1/3 of the volumes coming down to 5.5% in the month, -2,8 p.p. (8.1% in the 11 months, +0.6 p.p.). The long-term rental recovers in volume, climbing by 2.5 points, at 30.1% (32.6% in January-November, +1.0 p.p.), thanks to the excellent increase of Captives in the face of a double-digit bending of Top companies.
The short rental in the month marks a strong contraction of the registrations and loses 1 point of quota, to 4.6% of the total and to 5.6% in January-November (-0.6 p.p.); institutions and companies confirm the leadership recovered last month, at 45.7% share (+2.4 p.p.); in 11 months they cover 39.3% share (-0.4 p.p.).
On the front of the motorizations, in November the diesel – with a contraction in volume – yields 4,8 points of altitude, coming down to 79,5% of the total (80.4% in the piled, -3,6 p.p.). The gasoline engine in the month yields 0.7 points, to 3.0% (table to 3.8% in the 11 months). The Gpl climbs 0.1 points, to 2.8% (to 2.4% in January-November), plug-in vehicles pass from 0.2% a year ago to 1.6% of November (0.9% in 11 months). The BEV vehicles, as anticipated, in November rise to 4.3% (+1.8 p.p.) and in the cumulated pass from 1.9% of a year ago to 4.4% current, while the hybrid vehicles gain 2.3 points and cover 8.8% of the total in the month (8.1% in January-November). The average CO2 weighted in the month drops 6.5% (and 12.8 g/Km) to 182,8 g/Km, compared to 195.6 g/Km of the same period 2024 (183.4 g/Km in 11 months, -6,3%).
