In Paris meeting of the willing, PM Meloni present

PARIS (ITALPRESS) – A new meeting of the so-called “Coalition of the Willing” on peace and security in Ukraine is being held in Paris today. Earlier today, 33 delegations, including those accompanying 27 heads of state and government, were invited to the summit organized by the French presidency.

European leaders are in attendance, including Council President Gorgia Meloni. Non-European representatives include the ambassadors of Canada and Australia to France, as well as the Turkish vice president. Also present are European Council President Antonio Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The meeting represents the third such initiative, following the meeting at Lancaster House, UK, last March 2 and the second, also organized by the UK but in a virtual format, last March 15. In addition to the meetings between political leaders, there were also meetings between the military summits of “willing” countries, one in Paris and the other in London, and a meeting, again in Paris, between the defense ministers of five countries including Italy.
