ROME (ITALPRESS) – On the orders of the Anti-Mafia District Directorate of Rome, a vast operation is underway by the Carabinieri of the Rome Center Company to execute an order, issued by the G.I.P. of the Court of Rome at the request of the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office – Anti-Mafia District Directorate – ordering precautionary measures against 18 people, 8 of whom, associated in prison, seriously suspected of being the promoters and members of a criminal association aimed at drug trafficking while the other 10 subjected to house arrest and the obligation to present themselves at the barracks as they are seriously suspected of multiple conducts of dealing and possession of drugs.
The Carabinieri’s investigations, initiated by monitoring the supply channels of a pusher dedicated to drug dealing in the nightlife area of Piazza Navona and Piazza del Fico, have made it possible to gather serious circumstantial elements regarding the existence of a criminal structure of associative type with a logistical base in the San Basilio neighborhood, dedicated to the stable management of drug dealing – mainly cocaine and crack – in the northeast quadrant of the Capital, with offshoots precisely up to the historic center.
The investigative maneuver made it possible not only to hypothesize the pyramidal structure of the organization, headed by Alessio Capogna, a relative of historical figures in the Capitoline drug trade, as well as the internal subdivision of roles, but also and above all the operational scheme chosen with the use of the “itinerant model” of a drug store square, at the expense of the classic static system, in which the sales took place mainly through a “delivery service,” at home or at fixed meeting points, after ordering through a “switchboard” available 24 hours a day.
