In Rozzano the minister Bernini kicks off the mural of Brera and eight projects

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The sky between the houses of Rozzano, the stars among the buildings of the city: a wall that from simple wall turns into horizon. A mural, realized by the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, which recalls the astronomical observatory of excellence present in the city and takes its meaning: to raise the gaze, to go further, to imagine new perspectives of growth for the community. With a first symbolic brushstroke, the Minister of the University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, and the head of the Civil Protection, Fabio Ciciliano, today gave way to the realization of this great work on a palace owned by the Aler inspired by the starry sky, symbol of the rebirth of the city of Lombardy.

“Regenerate a territory – Minister Bernini said – means investing in skills and opportunities. Universities and AFAM can affect even in the most fragile contexts: they guide young people, strengthen community services, create qualified work and make culture accessible. In Rozzano we demonstrate that art and training are strategic choices to make the territories safer and promote the social and economic growth of a community.”.

The start of the work took place on the occasion of the meeting between the Minister Bernini, the Head of the Department of Civil Protection Fabio Ciciliano and the Mayor of Rozzano Mattia Ferretti, during which eight projects were presented by university institutions, AFAM and Third Sector bodies within the Extraordinary Plan for urban areas with high social vulnerability. The initiatives will lead to Rozzano high-training and professionalization paths, scientific laboratories for schools, medical screening programs assisted by artificial intelligence, participatory art projects, intergenerational co-housing models and psychological and orientation support services, with a direct impact on the community in terms of urban regeneration, inclusion and new job opportunities.

The initiatives involve three institutions AFAM – Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera – and five universities and the Third Sector: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Università di Milano-Bicocca, Humanitas University, Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele e CSVnet Lombardia. The Accademia Teatro alla Scala offers a program that transforms Rozzano into a “common dance”, with shows and artistic productions in urban spaces and the Municipal Theatre.

Active orientation days in schools on show crafts and professionalizing paths in areas such as make-up and theatrical wig, tailoring, sound and lights. There are also artistic residences and bands for participating art projects and urban regeneration. The “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan activates musical workshops aimed at children, young people and the elderly, with paths that culminate in public performances. Children discover musical instruments through experiential activities; children perform shows using everyday objects as instruments; for the elderly people there are meetings dedicated to opera repertoire and the Italian song. The Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, in collaboration with IRCCS Istituto Humanitas, produces art laboratories inspired by art therapy models that involve patients and citizens in the creation of collective works. Among the initiatives: a project dedicated to raising awareness about the prevention of breast cancer and a labs-based pathway based on fabrics and fabrics as a metaphor for the “trames” of the city. The works will be displayed in public spaces, strengthening the link between art, health and community. The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart activates high-training courses and masters for the preparation of territorial educators, road operators and figures engaged in social intervention, with internship activities directly on the territory.

It also provides psychological support and guidance with the aim of supporting individual well-being and social inclusion. The University of Milan-Bicocca, in collaboration with the Anthem Foundation, develops an ultrasound screening program for the prevention of thyroid cancers, assisted by artificial intelligence systems, to promote early and sustainable diagnosis. At the same time, a Living Lab of Participated Urban Regeneration, in which citizens, associations and researchers collaborate on issues such as environment, mobility, energy and quality of public spaces. The Humanitas University carries out interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary workshops aimed at local students and schools, with practical experiences in STEM. It also provides a multifunctional area for cultural, public and health prevention activities and the establishment of a School for Socio-Sanitari Operators (OSS), aimed at occupational inclusion in the healthcare sector.

The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, with the project “Rozzano intergenerational city” promotes the regeneration of urban spaces, provides models of co-housing and collaborative living, educational initiatives and paths of active citizenship. CSVnet Lombardia integrates the academic dimension with civic and social training paths, active “community crafts” for participatory art and urban regeneration and promotes a volunteer Hub in the future university pole. He also foresees a program of “Social Sentinels” to form citizens and associations in early recognition of situations of discomfort and isolation, especially among young people.
