VENICE (ITALPRESS) – Four goals and a draw between Venezia and Como on an evening extremely affected by wind gusts and rain. A salvation clash that was as vibrant and evenly balanced as ever, leaving Eusebio Di Francesco’s team in last place in the standings. Nicolussi Caviglia’s goal opened the scoring, with Como, however, managing to score again thanks to Candela’s own goal first and Belotti’s goal later, finally Oristanio directly from a corner put everything back to the final 2-2. Thrill in the final with the possible 3-2 by Nicolussi Caviglia cancelled after Var call for offside by Pohjanpalo.
Difficulties on the part of both teams in handling high balls, moved by strong gusts of wind. The first dangerous cue of the match came from Strettezza, who exchanged with Nico Paz and tried to surprise Stankovic from distance, who was reactive in the dive. Unlocking the match, however, is Venezia, at 16′, on Nicolussi Caviglia’s shot from distance, winning after a lucky deflection by Pohjanpalo.
Fabregas’ team reacted and threw themselves back forward, putting a lot of pressure on a Venice side that also defended against unfavorable wind gusts. There were few other chances in the first half heavily conditioned by the weather conditions, as well as at the start of the second half, when at 49′ a cross from Van der Brempt was awkwardly deflected by Candela toward his goal, beating Stankovic and giving Como the equalizer. The game seemed to light up, with another chance for the Lombardi on the restart that saw Strettezza graze the post on the conclusion hurled from inside the Veneto area. Venice is saved, but only until 56′, when on another descent of Van der Brempt is served the good ball for the turn of Belotti, good at crossing and overturning the result for Como. Venice that despite the difficulties and a hasty handling of the ball manages to get back upstream, finding the draw in the 70th minute, with the Olympic goal by Oristanio who directly from a corner draws the left-handed trajectory that, also due to the effect of the wind, mocks Reina. Race nearing its conclusion, with Venezia finding the goal of the new lead at 87′ thanks to Nicolussi Caviglia with Doveri who, called back to the Var, annulled everything. This is the last flash of the challenge, which thus ends at 2-2.
