In thousands in Minneapolis against the Ice, Bruce Springsteen also appears surprisingly

WASHINGTON (USA) (ITALPRESS) – The mobilization against the Trump administration and the ICE immigration agency has reached a new peak in Minneapolis, involving thousands of people and having repercussions in all the United States. The heart of the protest was the local historian First Avenue, where Bruce Springsteen appeared in surprise during a fundraising concert organized by American singer-songwriter Tom Morello, former guitarist of Rage Against the Machine. Springsteen played the song “Streets of Minneapolis” (The Streets of Minneapolis), written in memory of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, the two American citizens killed by federal agents during disputes against migration policies.

Springsteen called the federal forces a form of “state error”, compared the ICE to a private army under Trump’s command, recalling the gravity of the violence perpetrated in the streets of the city. During the show, Tom Morello addressed harsh words to the government, explicitly evoking the danger of fascism in the management of public order. The tension in the city is also evidenced by the arrest of journalist Don Lemon, former face of CNN, stopped while following a protest within a church. The sending of three thousand federal agents in the Minneapolis area has triggered a reaction that has crossed the boundaries of Minnesota for weeks. Around 250 events were recorded in 46 states under the slogan “No work. No school. No shopping. Stop funding ICE”.
