TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Suzuki and the Italian Federation of Canoeing (FIC) have signed an agreement that previews the presence of the Suzuki logo on the official uniforms of the National Rowing, engaged in the main national and international competitions. Suzuki will support the Federation during service activities to the crews by motorizing the boats with outboard without a license of up to 40 horses, characterized by low consumption and reduced environmental impact. Outside the water, FIC can count on a fleet of Suzuki cars that will be used as official means of service.
The partnership was presented at the headquarters of the Royal Canottieri Cerea Company on the occasion of the 34th edition of Silverskiff, the international endurance race dedicated to the specialty of the single with 730 athletes coming from 23 nations. “Accogliere Suzuki within our family has an important meaning – says Davide Tizzano, president of the Italian Canoeing Federation – Canoeing and Suzuki share values such as innovation, excellence, teamwork, attention to sustainability and the environment and continuous improvement, as already demonstrated for the initiative ‘Together for a Po Pulitò, last June in Turin”.
For Suzuki this partnership is a new chapter in the commitment to support sports that require determination, discipline, team spirit and respect for the environment. Values that have always inspired the company and are reflected in its products: from compact and performing outboards to lightweight and at the same time robust, versatile and sustainable cars, thanks to the 100% hybrid range. “Canoeing is a sport that focuses on strength, endurance and ability to deal with fatigue and difficulties with team spirit. The path of FIC and Suzuki began with the celebrations of the world title won by Italy in the 4th pair and with the silver conquered in the eight mixed to the Shanghai World Cup. A path continued with the “Paolo d’Aloja” Memorial of Piediluco (Terni) and with the Europeans and Worlds of Beach Sprint scheduled in Antalya between October and November.
In 2026, the most important appointments of the international calendar will be, for the canoeing “flat”, the Europeans of Varese (30 July-2 August), the World Championships of Amsterdam (23-30 August), together with the stages of the World Cup, the Mediterranean Games of Taranto and the Europeans and World Championships Under 19 and 23. Suzuki will be at the side of the FIC also in the Ravenna Youth Festival (3-5 July), in all editions of the Italian Championships and in national events.
