The STB (Science, Technology and Business) Days 2026 conclude today with the Innovation Day, the day dedicated to Innovation, on the occasion of Made in Italy Day. The day is entirely dedicated to companies, startups and investments, with a focus on strengthening economic and industrial relations between Italy and the United States. The event, organized by the General Consulate of Italy, brought together from 14 to 16 April the protagonists of the transatlantic ecosystem giving rise to a laboratory of ideas and projects for the future with the aim to generate a concrete and lasting impact in the global panorama of innovation.

The Innovation Day will be full of events and interventions, a moment of synthesis between research and concrete application that brings on the same level emerging startups, large industrial groups, venture capital and consulting companies. The format, dynamic and business oriented, is designed to foster strategic connections, deal-making and exchange ideas, articulating in three parallel paths: the Science & Business Forum for consolidated companies and institutions, the Pilot & Cooperation session for bilateral R&D partnerships and the Startup Track dedicated to early-stage realities in search of visibility and capital.

To open the work, at 15:15, the Consul General of Italy in Boston Arnaldo Minuti and the Councillor for Science and Technology Paolo Gaudenzi, presenting the themes of the Made in Italy Day in Boston emphasize the key role of innovation as leverage of growth and international cooperation.

The central moment of the day is the Startup Competition (15:25–16:40), organized in collaboration with 42N, which features Italian and Italian-American startups active in high-tech sectors. Among these, ADA IQ and ai.Esra in the field of artificial intelligence applied to product development and cybersecurity, Lightsmith with digital twin solutions for energy, Causify for predictive maintenance, Osense for risk management, Sunspeker with innovative technologies for solar and Smart Structures Solutions for monitoring infrastructure and industrial assets. After a networking break, the focus moves on the impact of artificial intelligence with the How AI panel will frame our future (17:10), organized with the Boston chapter of Bocconi Alumni. Moderated by Nicole Cutrufo at Harvard Business School, the debate involves experts from large companies and consulting companies such as BIP, HubSpot and Sanofi, offering a reflection on the ongoing transformations in the business and society world.

At 18:00, the comparison is extended to the international dimension with the US and Italy session: bilateral trade and investments, realized with the support of the Italian Trade Agency. Representatives of the first floor of the industrial and institutional world, including Achille Spinelli Vice President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Gianluca Valenti of Politecnico di Milano and Giovanni Bertolino for ENEL, and Francesco Greco for Fincantieri, together with Angelini, DOS Design, MSXI and Italian Trade Agency. At the heart of the debate, investment opportunities and prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries.

The presence of great international counselling players such as BIP, alongside Italian industrial champions such as ENI, ENEL and Fincantieri, strengthens the position of the third day dedicated to Innovation as a privileged platform for the meeting between capital, skills and design.

More than a concluding event, Innovation Day is a real accelerator of opportunities, able to translate the dialogue between research and business into concrete initiatives, helping to strengthen the bridge between Italy and the United States in the sign of innovation and global competitiveness.
