Inps, at the end of 2025 positive balance of 342,000 jobs in the private. Fava “Almost encouraging”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – At the end of 2025 there is a positive annual balance of 342,000 jobs in the private sector, confirming a consistent positive dynamic. The figure is calculated as a sum of the differences between recruitment flows and terminations over the last twelve months and represents the annual change in labour positions. Indefinite-time contracts weigh 91.5% on this trend change with a balance of +313,000 working relationships, for other types of contract the change was also positive and equal to +29,000 working relationships, on this data have engraved the increments of intermittent, seasonal, fixed-time and in administration. These are the synthesis data of the Observatory on the labour market of INPS for the year 2025 edited by the General Statistical Coordination Attuariale, the Central Direction of Entry and the Central Direction of Information Technology and Innovation, instrument of detection and analysis of the movements of the working relationships – assumptions, transformations and termination – and of the occasional work performance.

According to the President of the INPS, Gabriele Fava “the data of the Observatory returns an encouraging picture. The holding of the social security system directly depends on the quality and continuity of employment. The positive annual balance of 342 thousand jobs and the prevailing weight of indefinite reporting tell us that the solidity of the labour market remains the first condition to build a stronger pension. There is no pension without work, and there is no solid pension without stable employment paths, continuous and able to generate contribution over time.”.

Fava then illustrates the choice of the Institute to focus on young people: “For this reason we have chosen to focus on the new course of the Institute for young people and women, which represent a decisive lever not only for the future of the social security system, but for the overall growth of the country. The data on incentive activations confirm that this direction is right and must be strengthened. Faced with the transformation produced by Artificial Intelligence, it becomes even more necessary to invest in active policies, training and continuous updating of skills. Innovation will be really useful only if it will translate into more opportunities, greater inclusion and quality work.”.

A strategy that has in the SIISL platform of application intersection and job offer and services to the citizen wanted by Minister Calderone and managed by the Institute an innovative tool associated with measures such as ADI, SFL and new NASPI.

“In this framework it is important to also enhance the experience of seniors – adds Fava -. Those with skills, professionalism and energies to be made available must continue to do so through flexible and dignified tools. The bonus Giorgetti goes in this direction. We have to get over a reading of the labour market by now. There is no automatism for which the work of seniors subtracts space to young people. When the system grows, when it creates quality jobs and when it invests on skills, different generations strengthen each other. Welfare builds itself first of all in work, in the quality of careers and in the ability of the country to offer solid opportunities to every generation.”.

Overall the assumptions activated in 2025 by private employers were 8,031,000, while the transformations from time determined to time undetermined in 2025 were 775.000, increasing compared to 2024 (+1.4%). Increasing also the confirmations of apprenticeship reports reached the conclusion of the training period of 115.000 (+4.4%). The terminations during 2025 were 7,690.000, decreasing compared to the previous year (-1.1%). In the course of 2025 the activations of employment relationships – including both new recruitment and contractual changes – recorded a significant growth of +14,5% compared to the previous year. This increase concerns activations with young contributory exemption (+26%) and women incentive (+6.4%); substantially stable other measures.

These variations are largely attributable to the extension from 1 September 2024 to 31 December 2025 of total exemptions for young people and women (in accordance with Legislative Decree No 60/2024 and L. 207/2024). The consistency of workers employed with Contracts of Occasional Performance (CPO) in December 2025 is around 20,000 units, up +4% compared to the same month of 2024; the average gross monthly amount of the actual remuneration is 281 euros. As for workers paid with the titles of the Family Book (LF), in December 2025 they are approximately 12,000, up (+1%) compared to December 2024; the average gross monthly amount of their actual remuneration is 167 euros.
