ROME (ITALPRESS) – In 2023, those enrolled in the Separate Management Scheme will touch 1.6 million, with both collaborators and professionals growing. This is one of the data from the update of the INPS Statistical Observatory on Parasubordinate Workers for the years 2022 and 2023, published today.The Observatory reports the trend in the period 2015-2023 of the information on professionals and collaborators enrolled in the Separate Management Fund (https://servizi2.inps.it/servizi/osservatoristatistici/9).The total number of contributing parasubordinate workers (collaborators plus professionals) increased from 1.434,856 in 2015 to 1,594,776 in 2023.The data show a decrease in the type of contributors from 2015 to 2016 (-17.4%), a stabilization in 2017 (+0.1%), an increase between 2017 and 2018 (+2.4%), a slight growth between 2018 and 2019 (+0.8%) a decrease between 2019 and 2020 (-1.7%), a 6.8% increase between 2020 and 2021 a further increase between 2021 and 2022 (+5.4%) and between 2022 and 2023 (+2.9%). Professionals, on the other hand record a steady growth from 2015 to 2023 of 59.0%.These changes are to be linked not only to labor market dynamics, but also to regulatory interventions over the years that have of particularly affected collaborations. It should also be noted that the trends in the number of collaborators and professionals have also been affected by the continuous changes in the contribution rate, which has reached a similar level for collaborators as for employees.The share of women has decreased among collaborators, from 39.1 percent in 2015 to 37.7 percent in 2023, while it has increased among professionals from 41.9 percent in 2015 to 47.1 percent in 2023. Regarding age, compared to 2015 there was an increase of 13.6 percent for those under 30 and 7.0 percent, for adults (30 to 59 years old), but growing the most were seniors (60 years and older) for whom the increase was 26.0 percent.At the territorial level in 2023 the change in the number of contributing parasubordinate workers compared to 2015 sees significant growth in the South, with an increase of 16.0 percent, while in the North the growth was 10.2 percent and in the Center 9.5 percent.The income-related analysis shows, for contributors, a continued growth in average income. In contrast, for professionals, there is a slight decrease until 2017, a slight recovery in 2018 and 2019, a substantial decrease in 2020 attributable to the effects of the pandemic, from 2021 there is a recovery in average income.In the report, additional detailed variables are available for the type of collaborators only, such as the number of principals: in 2023, 46.3 percent of collaborators are found to be exclusive and single-committed, with an average annual income of 21,447 euros. However, the average income of men is almost double that of women. Directors and auditors have the highest incomes compared to all others, confirming the extreme heterogeneity of contributors to the Separate Management Fund.
