ROME (ITALPRESS) – As of December 2024, INPS reports a positive annualized balance of 375,000 employment positions in the private sector, showing significant growth in the labor market. This result, calculated as the difference between hirings and terminations in the last 12 months, reflects the annual trend change driven in particular by permanent contracts: +315,000 employment relationships. For other types of contracts, the trend change is also positive: +60,000 labor relations.

These data are provided by the INPS Labor Market Observatory, which is maintained by the General Statistical Actuarial Coordination, the Central Revenue Directorate and the Central Information Technology and Innovation Directorate, and analyze in detail the movements of labor relations.

On the dynamics of flows, overall in 2024 there were 8.1 million hires activated in the year, 761 thousand were transformations from fixed-term, into stable contracts and 7.7 million terminations.

In 2024, a reduction in the activation of incentivized labor relations of -43% compared to the previous year is observed. Contribution exemption measures for young people and women suffered significant declines (-64% and -21% respectively), but were extended until December 31, 2027, pending authorization from the European Commission. “Decontribution South” was extended until June 30, 2024, with extension for contracts signed by that date.

Recruitment on a temporary basis in 2024 showed a decrease, with -6 percent for permanent contracts and -3 percent for fixed-term contracts. However, the annual balance as of December 2024 is positive, with an increase of +2,000 positions.
