MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Inter Milan beats Lazio and flies into the semifinals of the Coppa Italia, where the highly anticipated derby against AC Milan will await. It was Arnautovic and Calhanoglu who decided the match against the Biancocelesti, won 2-0. Inzaghi opts for an ample turnover ahead of Saturday’s Scudetto match against Napoli: rest for Bastoni, with Bisseck starting, while the midfield three are Frattesi, Asllani and Zielinski, with Darmian (forced out due to injury at 24′ and giving way to Dumfries) and Dimarco on the flanks; in attack here are Taremi and Arnautovic. Baroni, on the other hand, reintroduces Mandas in goal, while Gigot gives Gila a rest. Isaksen-Dia-Zaccagni the line of trequartisti behind Tchaouna. After a start without any particular cues, the first ring is from Lazio with a shot by Dia bricked by Bisseck. At 18′ Tchaouna triggers Isaksen, who engages in a duel with Asllani by blasting a diagonal shot destined for the low corner, on which Martinez arrives with his fingertips. On the first shot on goal, Inter took the lead: on 39′, Lazio’s defense cleared on a corner kick taken by Dimarco, but on the edge of the area was Arnautovic, who coordinated perfectly and sent off a left-footed volley that slotted just wide of the post, there where Mandas could not reach. In the midst of the recovery, on a restart brought forward by Zielinski, there is still time for Asllani’s attempt, off by not much. Lazio returned well from the locker room and immediately made themselves dangerous with a breakaway by Isaksen, who then tried to beat Martinez with the point but was closed down by the Spanish goalkeeper. Inter responded on the counterattack with Bisseck and Taremi, with the latter closed down by Mandas. At 59′ Martinez is alert to block a sudden but central shot by Zaccagn. At 75′ Correa found space to slot into the box after another good play by Zielinski, Gigot tripped the Argentine and Fabbri whistled the penalty: from the penalty spot, Calhanoglu dispatched Mandas. Lazio reacted immediately and got on the mark with Pedro, who hit the crossbar after a deflection by Bisseck, but the goal did not come.
