MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Another victory for Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan, which beat Como 2-0 and answers Atalanta and Napoli, staying in the slipstream. Decisive goals, both in the second half, by first Carlos Augusto and then Thuram, in front of a Como side that still held its own against the Nerazzurri in a complicated match.
Good start, in fact, by Fabregas’ team, well put to screen the interiste advances, constant but not easy to materialize. The first real chance of the match comes in the 33rd minute, on the combination between Dumfries and Mkhitaryan that favors just the Dutchman, not precise from a good position inside the area in the conclusion that ends high. Lots of balance between the two sides and Inter struggling to make themselves dangerous from Reina’s sides. Dimarco will try at the end of the first half, at the end of a nice maneuvered action that brings the Inter external player to the right turn that is, however, weak and central, therefore harmless for the Como goalkeeper. Zero to zero and halftime at the San Siro, with Inzaghi changing nothing in his eleven upon his return to the field, and it would prove him right just three minutes after the resumption of play: a corner calibrated well by Calhanoglu and exploited to the full by Carlos Augusto, who with his aerial break beats Reina and puts Inter ahead. Como tried to rev up the engine, making itself dangerous in 62′ with Nico Paz, who was good at being unmarked in the area but not as good at kicking powerfully toward Sommer, who thus managed to repel. The match thus entered its final phase, in which Inter tried to restart in the hunt for the second goal, in front of a Como in debt of energy after a careful and orderly performance. It is in the recovery, in fact, that the Nerazzurri put the exclamation point on their victory, with Thuram’s goal who, starting from the right, finds the light for a powerful right-footer on which Reina can do nothing. It was the Frenchman’s goal that ended all talk for Inter and sent the San Siro challenge to the final credits.
