MILANO (ITALPRESS) – The Guardia di Finanza in Milan, coordinated by the District Attorney General of the Republic of Milan, with the support of the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-terrorism and Eurojust, has concluded a wide investigation towards an association for delinquents dedicated to the international traffic of narcotic substances, culminated with the execution in Milan, Barcelona and Marbella (Spain), last February, of an orderly charged.
The investigations, launched in 2024, have allowed to reconstruct the organization of two distinct criminal consortia, consisting of subjects of Rom and Magrebina origin, among them associated with the purpose of buying in Morocco large quantities of hashs to be reselled on the plazas of Milan, South Italy and Barcelona.
The investigative activity has allowed to reconstruct the activity of the narcotic branch operating along the axis Spain-Italy. The members of the organization, taking advantage of a widespread distribution network on the national territory, in a time span of only four months they imported hashish matches for a quantity greater than 350 kilos, of which about 125 subjected to seizure in Italy between August and September 2024, at the same time as the arrest in scourgency of 4 carriers responsible for transport.
In particular, in the course of several interventions, 86 kilos of hashish were seized inside two suitcases placed in the trunk of a car and, subsequently, another 38 kilos of the same substance transported inside a foreign plate car from the Iberian peninsula. A first phase of the operation was completed on 10 February, as part of a joint action day that involved financers of the Gico in Milan and staff of the Mossos d’Esquadra.
The operation ended with the execution of personal precautionary measures in prison against 8 investigated in Italy (also blamed by international arrest warrants) and 12 in Spanish territory. During the international operation, additional 51 kilos of hashish were seized in the Iberian Peninsula, two firearms and about 68,000 euros in cash.
In the second phase of the operation, the financiers focused on the illicit heritage that can be traced back to the members of the drug-trafficking organization, in order to attack the assets accumulated through criminal activities. In particular, in recent days the Guardia di Finanza of Milan has carried out preventive seizure measures, aimed at confiscation, of some cars of high value held in Italy and Spain by the inquiries. Among these, a Ferrari 296 GTB worth about 300 thousand euros and a BMW M4 Competition worth about 100 thousand euros.
