Iran attacks in Qatar, missiles and fires on GNL plants. Trump warns Tehran “If it happens again, we will destroy South Pars”

DOHA (QATAR) (ITALPRESS) – QatarEnergy state company has announced that several plants for liquefied natural gas (GNL) in the industrial city of Ras Laffan were affected by missile attacks in the early hours of Thursday, causing significant fires and further serious damage. In an official statement, QatarEnergy stated that “different GNL structures were the subject of missile attacks, causing substantial fires and further extensive damage.” The company added that emergency teams were immediately deployed to contain damages and that they did not register injured or victims following attacks. The incident follows a few hours a previous Iranian missile attack on Wednesday 18 March on the same area as Ras Laffan, which had already caused serious damage to a gas-liquid conversion plant (Pearl GTL) and partially controlled fires.

The ministry of the Qatariote Interior confirmed that all the incendiary outbreaks in the area were tamed and that there were no injuries. QatarEnergy has emphasized that the staff is safe and that all the people present were counted. The attacks, attributed to Tehran in reprisal of US-Israeli strikes, take place in the context of regional escalation and strike one of the world’s leading GNL export hubs, where QatarEnergy manages about a fifth of the global capacity before the discontinuation of production for security reasons. The gas and oil quotations recorded immediate rise on international markets in response to news.

TRUMP “GRAVI CONSEGUENZE SE L’IRAN ATTACCHERA’ DI NUOVO IL QATAR”

“Israel, driven by rage for what happened in the Middle East, violently attacked an important plant, the South Pars gas station in Iran. A relatively small section of the entire plant was hit. The United States did not know anything about this attack and Qatar was in no way involved, nor had any idea that would happen. Iran was not aware of this, nor of any other relevant fact concerning the attack on South Pars, and unjustifiedly and unfairly attacked part of Qatar’s liquefied natural gas plant. Israel will not carry out any further attacks against this very important and precious deposit of South Pars, unless Iran unwisely decides to attack an innocent country, in this case Qatar. In this case, the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will explode the entire deposit with a power and force that Iran has never seen before.” The president of the United States, Donald Trump, writes on social truth. “I don’t want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long-term implications it will have on the future of Iran, but if the GNL deposit of Qatar will be attacked again, I will not hesitate to do so,” Trump added.
