Iran, opposition “Subito Meloni in court, must expose in Parliament the line of government”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The presidents of Parliamentary opposition groups of Chamber and Senate sent a unitary letter to the Presidents of the Chamber and Senate, Lorenzo Fontana and Ignazio La Russo, to ask urgently to convene the President of the Council Giorgia Meloni to report in parliament. “The nature and scope of the current crisis – we read in the text – in fact invest foreign and security policy in its total and strategic dimension, affecting profiles that hold the international position of Italy, its obligations deriving from international law and treaties, energy security, the protection of Italian citizens present in the area and the stability of the entire Middle Eastern quadrant. According to Article 95 of the Constitution, the President of the Council directs the general policy of the Government and is responsible for it, maintaining its unity of political and administrative address. In view of this unitary responsibility, it seems necessary that both the President of the Council should clarify in Parliament the official position of the Government. Considering that – we read again in the text – there is not even an official statement of the President of the Council of Ministers, a full and transparent confrontation in the Chamber with the executive summit is necessary in a frangente of such gravity, so that political address, strategic choices and responsibilities may be clarified.”.

The letter was signed by the group leaders of Chamber and Senate: Chiara Braga and Francesco Boccia (Pd), Riccardo Ricciardi and Luca Pirondini (M5S), Luana Zanella and Peppe De Cristofaro (Avs), Matteo Richetti and Marco Lombardo (Action), Mariaelena Boschi and Raffaella Paita (Italy Viva), Riccardo Magi (+Europe).
