LONDRA (GRAN BRETAGNA) (ITALPRESS) – The British government has outlined its political-military strategy to address the war crisis in Iran, with the stated goal of defending national interests without dragging the country into a large-scale conflict.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has made clear a concept: do not directly engage the British armed forces in offensive operations against Iran. “If we ever send our military to combat, they must know that they act on a clear legal basis and with a defined strategic plan,” stressing that the responsible leadership requires prudence and weighted strategic evaluations. “Our goal is to protect our citizens and allies without being involved in a large-scale regional conflict,” he added. Starmer then explained that “our military operate day and night to defend British lives, bases and allies.”.
In his analysis of the situation, Starmer recognized that the military operations carried out by the United States inflicted a hard blow on the military capabilities of the Islamic Republic, but stressed that the subsequent phase of the conflict would inevitably require a negotiated agreement to contain the Iranian threat.
