BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) (ITALPRESS) – The EU Council formally decided today to add the body of the Guards of the Islamic Revolution (Irgc) of Iran to the EU list of terrorists. The formalization follows the agreement reached by the Foreign Affairs Council on 29 January. Following the entry into the list, pasdaran will also be subject to restrictive measures under EU anti-terrorism sanctions.
In particular, according to a note from Brussels, funds and other financial activities or economic resources are frozen in the EU Member States and the prohibition on EU operators to put funds and economic resources available to the group. On the basis of the decision, to date there are 13 people and 23 groups and entities subject to the restrictive measures provided for in the so-called EU terrorist list.
