Iran, Urso “We are concerned about the consequence of the war on energy costs”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The government is evaluating the impact that the new conflict can have. Of course we are concerned with the consequences that can be on the cost of energy, regardless of the energy supply I believe is guaranteed. With regard to the problems, they do not concern supply as much as the cost of energy that could grow. The times of the conflict will result in the energy and production system.” This was said by the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso at the press conference at the end of the 3rd Italian-French Ministerial Forum.

“It will be necessary, shortly, a comparison between government and the country’s production system to implement the support measures at this difficult stage. Europe – he added – must understand that it must reduce its dependence on foreign countries, both in terms of energy and raw materials, serves a European strategic autonomy.” The ministo recalled that “the government decided to resume the path of the latest generation nuclear energy and implement any form of renewable energy”.

“We shared the need to intervene immediately on the mechanism that determines the costs of energy and the support for energy companies, a theme we have already shared with other European actors. Today we shared the need for a review of the Ets mechanism, to proceed together with the revision of the Cbam and the safeguard measures of steel to support the decarbonization process of the energy industries. 2026 must be the year of reform,” he added.
