ROME (ITALPRESS) – “At yesterday’s meeting, the Council of Ministers approved a decree-law that reopened the deadline by which taxpayers applying the tax reliability indexes can join the two-year arrangement. This possibility of adhering to the arrangement, by submitting a special supplementary tax return, will be granted until Dec. 12, 2024, to those taxpayers who filed their tax returns by the deadline of Oct. 31, 2024, and who, despite being eligible, did not adhere. Adherence will be possible provided that, in the supplementary return, no lower taxable income, lower tax liability or higher credit is indicated than those reported in the return filed by Oct. 31.” This was said by Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti during Question Time at the Chamber of Deputies. “At the outcome of the monitoring of the final data on the adherence to the multi-year preventive arrangement, regulatory initiatives will be outlined in line with the provisions of Article 40 of Legislative Decree No. 13 of 2024, which allocates as a priority the revenue from the aforementioned measure to the reduction of Irpef rates,” Giorgetti stressed. The use of the greater resources, which should emerge in the current year or in the coming fiscal years, can in any case be evaluated only at the outcome of the payments on account and the other scheduled deadlines, subject to verification by the MEF that there is an effective increase compared to the resources discounted in the tendentials and always ensuring neutrality on all public finance balances.”
