ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Started in 2026 “Earth Generation”, the land instrument promoted by ISMEA, in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture of Food Sovereignty and Forests to facilitate access to the land by the new generations and support the generational replacement in agriculture. The free way to start the measure was decided yesterday by the Board of Directors of the Institute. The measure, which finances up to 100% the purchase of agricultural land, is aimed at the under 41 already active in the agricultural sector, which intend to expand its own company, and to young startuppers who wish to start a new entrepreneurial activity in agriculture, both with experience and in possession of adequate degrees of study.
With a budget of 120 million euros for 2026, “Generation Earth” is the only fund tool in Europe to rely on the institution of the reserved domain pact, which provides for the purchase of land by ISMEA and the contextual allocation of the same to young applicants. The transaction provides that the debt is then paid with a 2-year preammortisation and a 30-year maximum loan, with the possibility for beneficiaries to request, after at least five years, the revision of the rate applied to financing, when improved. From the financial point of view, “Generation Earth” allows access to operations up to 1,5 million euros (500 thousand euros for startuppers with a degree).
For young startuppers a first settlement prize of up to 100 thousand euros is also available, which is released to reduce the first amortization rate until the plan has been realized – with a greater intensity in the indoor and mountain areas. To confirm the attention to the most fragile territories, the initiatives localized in the indoor and mountain areas is also dedicated exclusively, since this year, a share of 10% of the total resources made available. From 2011 to today, the Measure has carried out 765 land operations, for a total area of 27 thousand hectares and a value of transactions of 483 million euros. The criteria, approved by the Board of Directors, will be published on the ISMEA website in the coming days, while the application portal will be open from 22 April to 19 June.
