Israeli army kills Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Israel says it killed the head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group in the Nur Shams refugee camp in the central West Bank in an airstrike yesterday. Muhammad Abdullah was appointed head of the Iran-backed terrorist group in the Tulkarem camp after his predecessor Muhamad Jabber was killed in a firefight in late August, the Israel Defense Forces say. The IDF says Abdullah was killed in an airstrike along with a second terrorist, without naming the second person. The army says Abdullah was responsible for organizing the group’s activities, including “many attacks.” It accuses him of using explosives against Israeli troops. Israeli troops on the ground seized semiautomatic rifles and body armor found on the two, the IDF says.
The official Palestinian National Authority news agency Wafa says troops also seized the bodies of the two, naming Awad Omar, from the nearby town of Bal’a, as the second victim.
